Appalling but sad reality. In April '25 @ospreys beat @scarlets_rugby to get a home draw v Lyon in a Euro QF. 3.7k turned up out of a catchment area of 400k. This fixture typifies how little the team is supported and why they are not viable. Nothing to do with previous success.

Is there not a single rugby union fan in #Wales, the UK, Europe and maybe the world, who is not appalled by the plans to kill the @Ospreys? I live in Cardiff, watch regularly at the Arms Park - because I love rugby. But rugby in Wales is unthinkable without the #Ospreys!

@welshfin @ospreys @scarlets_rugby The URC is a poor product with fixtures of little interest to many, so fans have disappeared. Numbers would increase dramatically if an Anglo-Welsh league system existed. We can only hope. Fans can easily go away to Bath or Bristol. Joburg, Ulster and Glasgow? No chance.

@andy_harris75 @ospreys @scarlets_rugby Hi Andy, great to hear from you. I sincerely feel for every Ospreys fan, I really do. But even fans I have spoken to directly have said the same thing over and over, the support just simply hasn't been there in sufficient volumes.

Can't find the official attendances, but this is a bit misleading because there was 10k+ at the dot com for the Scarlets Euro game.
No mention of the fact that the 3.7k crowd was for a game arranged with 6 days notice.

Previous success has nothing to do with the current decision making process. @ospreys is no longer a commercially viable product due to a lack of local support in recent years.

A gutsy performance no doubt, and I feel for every @ospreys player. However there is no hiding from the fact that an attendance of under 3 k during the most critical week of their existence, must be a real concern for every loyal fan who wants to see them survive.
