My first core memory of country music was riding to school with my mom one Friday morning & hearing “Finally Friday” by George Jones. I was probably 5 or 6. Heard it damn near every Friday on the way to school after that. Told my parents that I thought it was just some local radio jingle once. I thought they were both gonna disown me.
