@primeadam My uni and others recently moved all HPLs onto 0.1 TF contracts (0.1 per module) . There is no way that 0.2 will be 0.2 in reality. It seems to be many unis attempt to pretend they are getting rid of HPL contracts and replacing them with 95% as exploitative fraction contracts.

Durham Law School PhD researchers will now be paid at the UKRI rate of £17668, rather than the previous take home pay of £13836, and will now be paid for their (previously unpaid) teaching work!
A difference of £5k annually - this is the power of the union!!!

⬇️Last week I held a teach out talking about the cost-of-living crisis re: PGRs, and making us staff would go a way towards dealing with the issue. Definitely won't fix it entirely, but at least we'd be able to access government financial help.

Today I delivered a teach out about the @KingsGTAs fight for fair pay in the first @KCL_UCU strike day. PhDs are workers! It was great seeing the solidarity of @kcl_ssts with us and @KCLUnison. In each branch @UCUPostgrads are fighting with lecturers!
