The Supreme Court of the United States has now joined the Supreme Court of Virginia in choosing to nullify an election and the votes of more than three million Virginians. These Virginians made their voices heard — casting their ballots in good faith to push back against a President who said he’s “entitled” to more seats in Congress before voters go to the polls. As Governor, I will make sure voters know when and how to cast their votes this year. Because our votes are how we choose the representation we deserve.

AOC: What is extremely disturbing about what has happened in Virginia is this court overturned the will of three million Virginians. They can say what they want about the ballot initiative, but they explicitly chose to issue this ruling after the election happened. They had all the time in the world to issue an opinion or an injunction before allowing this election to happen. They did not overturn a map—they overturned an election. It is the power of the American people that should be the ultimate check on all three branches. The court’s ability to overturn an election that was clear in its result should be something that is called into question.

🚨NEW: Fairfax County Commonwealth's Attorney Steve Descano's office reduced a rape charge (up to life in prison) against Alberto Ruiz Mendoza to assault and battery. Mendoza is now walking free. His sentence time was 90 days and his entire sentence was suspended. Descano also dropped the gun possession by an unlawful alien charges, a brandishing a firearm charge, and a threat in writing charge.
