I passed by a group of teenagers chatting in the darkness. Noted 3 boys and 1 girl and was hypervigilant for any possible misbehavior. Heartened to hear their exciting discussion about reading novels, that one preferred mysteries while the other romance. Relieved on 2 counts!

Translators should be eligible for the Nobel Prize. Without them huge swathes of literature would be unavailable to us. Translators are writers too, minus the ego :)

This happened at two panels I was on recently. As the moderator was not doing her job, I picked up the mic and asked the meandering man to stop as there were more questions. He stopped with the question the predominately female panel itself had started with and responded to!
