That's two of the 1987 Texas crew who have found wintering Least Sandpipers in Britain now! @Vaasetter and @nickwall865 Three to go.

Still no large shears off Cape Cornwall but a bloody Humpback breached three times behind The Brisons this morning! That was between 08:40 and 08:45. Then a few blows as it seemed to move off north. Mega.

@roxby_malcolm @MJLbirder @Vaasetter I concur Malcolm. Someone there said it looked like a flying Killer Whale, and Tony Clarke who had lived in Aus for a long time said they were the best views he had ever had. Mind you, it did fly past our heads, several times. Absolute mega bird and experience.

@LeeEvansBirding Keep an eye on @CBWPS1 website today. When you say 3rd for Britain are you including the Grove Ferry bird on 16th Sep 2007?

Looks like if I hadn't gone birding this morning I would've seen a first for Britain, since the Booted Eagle flew over a house just down the road from mine in St Just🙄🙁😒. I got the call but was on the patch at Boscregan, just too far south, and just the c200 Red Kites for me.

@Vaasetter @BirdingN One of the best birds I've ever seen, in Britain, and the world. Cheers Eddie! (Photograph ... yep, it's a photograph ... taken by Pete Wheeler I think)

Happy Anniversary to my old pal @BirdingN: 40 years ago today, Eddie found one of the great rarities of the 80's, a stunning summer adult Ross's Gull, on Arnold's Marsh. After 4 days at Cley, it relocated to Titchwell, harsh sunlit burns the colour but it really was marshmallowy!

@bigal7712 Try cloudbirders.com for gen and contacts my boy. Otherwise parks such as Dubai Creek Park should be good for migrants now, as well as residents such as Grey Francolin, Red-wattled Lapwing, Arabian Green Bee-eater and Purple Sunbird.

Classic patch birding. 'Nothing to report' on repeat for weeks & weeks then bang bang; a sprig of gorse at the top of Cot Valley at 08:30 turns out to be a mega male Golden Oriole which then flew up Cot where a Purple Heron was flying around, before heading off south at 08:45!

@AndrewMKinghorn Oriole or Heron? It's been a long, long, mostly grey, wet and/or windy winter and early spring Andrew but that 15 minutes this morning has made up for it! I liked your pic of that Great Bustard 'in habitat' by the way. All the best!

@duncan_dine @Westburyjayner @SamWalker22 That's a mega there Andy! I used to go a lot when I were a lad and I think my best day was on the 30th of April 1984 when an Avocet was sweeping the shallows while four Black Terns and a Common Tern flew around! The wind had been in the ESE for a few days.

@Westburyjayner @SamWalker22 As Andy intimated LRP is super rare at Witcombe in Nearly 40 years barely seen a handful , odd Redshank , Greenshank etc , there’s a old Avocet record that pre dates me 😄😢

A Little Ringed Plover at Witcombe Reservoir this morning. Apart from Common Sandpipers, any wader is unusual here. #GlosBirds

@bigal7712 @ScillyMemories Pretty sure that's me (with the mullet!) left of No. 2, and I think that's Chief (aka Nick Cobb) right of No. 2 although I can't be sure because he's running and Chief was not often seen running when playing football😉
