Tesla has just launched Tesla Home, a home energy management system. Powered by Opticaster, Tesla's AI optimization software, it predicts your energy needs, automatically adjusts your usage across your electric appliances and can help lower your electricity bills. 1) Opticaster assesses your energy usage and the weather forecast to predict your home’s solar generation and energy consumption. 2) Your system creates a plan to help you meet your savings goal. Based on this plan, your home uses solar or stored energy when utility prices are high, while your Powerwall and EV charge from solar or the grid when utility prices are low. Either way, you can minimize your electricity costs. 3) Opticaster continuously analyzes your home’s energy usage, solar production and local utility prices to improve its optimization and forecasting abilities. With over-the-air software updates, Opticaster will get better over time. "Designed to work with a variety of home energy systems, Tesla Home connects Powerwall to Solar Panels, Solar Roof, Wall Connector and other third-party energy products, with no additional equipment needed." I used Fable 5 to port Command & Conquer: Generals Zero Hour to the iPhone and iPad! This is the actual 2003 engine compiled for ARM64 natively, no emulator. Campaign, skirmish, Generals Challenge all work with touch controls built for an RTS. Open sourcing it all below!

I’m happy to announce the release of a new open source 3D physics engine called Box3D. I’ve been working on this project for a few years now, but it represents over 20 years of experience writing physics engines for games. Read more here: box2d.org/posts/2026/06/…

@WarnerTeddy I took you work and modified for a B&W display! Extends my existing subway e-ink display. Also added a brass capacitive button to shift between screens. Thanks for the inspiration! sambroner.com/posts/raspberr…

@WarnerTeddy Would this work with an LCD display rather than E-Ink? E-ink displays are way more expensive than what you can get an LCD for.

@rtsoft This is awesome. I'd love it if it had the capability of working with 360 photographs. Being able to view it as if inside the sphere and being able to use tools like the patch or clone brush while inside there sphere. Or on the flat. Nothing else does it

Tesla China has released its first ever retractable sunshade for the Model Y for 1,499 yuan ($236 USD). Very easy to install. I hope they launch this globally, because I will absolutely buy this.

@JaviSkau If you want a job making realistic game environments don't have your portfolio filled with high detail cutsey characters. Companies and recruiters want to know that if they hired you tomorrow you'd be able to drop into their pipeline and art style right away with minimal training

𝗝𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗦𝗸𝗮𝘂 | Environment / Prop Artist
Recruiters, Lead Artists, Art Directors, and Senior Artists: What’s the harsh truth that junior artists need to hear about portfolios and job applications? Not the sugar-coated version. The thing that repeatedly causes candidates to get rejected. And on the flip side: What is something that instantly makes you think: “This person is worth interviewing.” I’d love to turn the comments into a learning resource for aspiring artists trying to break into the games industry. Let’s help them understand what actually matters.

@toddsaunders Seems good at coding. Didn't follow some directions first go, I needed to poke it again to get it doing what I was after. It feels like it has slightly less personality than 4.7, I can't say exactly what, but I feel it

If you are using Opus 4.8 today, what’s the biggest noticeable difference to you vs 4.7? Benchmarks are cool but I want some real examples.

It's amazing what proper lighting (and Skyrim music 😁) can do to a scene. I'm replacing the procedural sky in Three.js Water Pro v3 with HDRIs from Polyhaven (converted to UltraHDR jpeg, only 500KB instead of 20MB). I think the results speak for themselves.

First test of a new-ish comfy tool to turn images into PBR materials. Not too bad. It removed the lights, but that's easy enough to add back All on my PC for the cost of electricity. "Texture Alchemy" is the name of the node pack. Very easy setup, not too hard to use

@MetaQuestVR Most games don't implement movement well and therefore leave players feeling sick. Assassin's Creed Nexus VR is a 10/10 game and the fluid movement is fantastic. (The teleport option is still quite good for those who suffer motion sickness)

Unpopular opinion: teleport movement is actually better than smooth locomotion for some games. Discuss.

Canberra is the startup capital of the country, an incubator for extraordinary innovations and we want it to stay that way. While I've pushed hard for and welcome sensible reforms to CGT concessions in housing, we need to avoid unintended consequences for the start up sector & and this is something I raised with the Assistant Treasurer yesterday. So important that govt gets this right. afr.com/technology/gov…
