It's purely personal preference, but I'm way more creatively inspired by the punk aesthetic. There's an artistry in the constraints of pixel art and generative design that I find more compelling than Rothko's color fields. More importantly, Punks aren't just art, they're pioneering a completely new frontier. They're literally the genesis of digital collectibles and represent the intersection of art, technology, and culture.
From an investment standpoint, I'd rather hold something digitally native that's bound to become increasingly valuable as Web3 evolves. Punks have legitimate potential to reach $1M each. A Rothko is a masterpiece, but it's locked in the physical world with a price ceiling already set. A Punk is unlocked, tradeable, composable with other digital assets, and fundamentally tied to the future of digital ownership. Plus, I can actively monetize them through partnerships and licensing while I hold. That's a way more exciting, fun, and secure position to me. And 2500 punks? Come on! 🤩🤌
