The ReVanced vs Morphe situation just got serious.
Morphe claims:
• ReVanced is copying their code
• Even copying comments + typos
• No proper attribution
• Copyright notices removed
• Violating GPL license terms
Context:
• Morphe is a fork by ex-ReVanced devs
• Open source allows reuse — but requires credit
• User-facing attribution is mandatory under their terms
• DMCA notice Already sent to Revanced
• Repo Link is down
This isn’t about “free code”.
It’s about respecting open-source rules.
If true…
this could escalate legally.

ReVanced just got hit with a DMCA. And GitHub took the repo down. But here’s what most people missed: • DMCA was filed by a third party (not Google directly) • GitHub is legally required to comply first, ask later • ReVanced reviewed it and says it has no legal basis • Counter-notice already submitted Now the important part: There’s a mandatory 14-day window. If the claimant doesn’t take legal action… GitHub can restore the repo. Meanwhile: • Development never stopped • Mirror repo is already live on GitLab • Community is still active This isn’t a shutdown. It’s just how the DMCA system works.
