Left Bundle Branch Area Pacing (LBBaP). The first image shows the ventricular lead anatomically crossing the ventricular septum from the right ventricle. The second image shows the electrical current of injury as the lead passes through the septum. In patients requiring >20% ventricular pacing, LBBaP has been shown to reduce ventricular dyssynchrony which in turn reduces the risk of pacing-induced cardiomyopathy (PICM), atrial fibrillation, and heart failure. It can also be an alternative to placing an LV lead for cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT).
