Hot take: The Committee protected the SEC (and their own anuses) in the opening rounds. Oklahoma-Alabama is a rematch of a snooze fest instead of Oklahoma-Miami and Texas A&M-Alabama to ensure at least one of their two teams with the worst cases to be in the playoff, is making it to the Quarterfinals. They also protected Ole Miss by having them at #6, when they should have been dropped because of the coaching change (per the Jordan Travis Rule). A rematch with Tulane should get them to the Quarterfinals without much trouble, too. @TimBrando talks about Pure Playoff Privilege, well, he's right. This bracket was carefully selected to protect the SEC because they're ESPN's cash cow. Anyone who tells you otherwise is gaslighting you.

Alabama should absolutely not be in the playoffs. Spare me the “A conference Championship loss shouldn’t hurt you” If you’re getting beat by 21 points by a playoff team then you’re not a playoff team.

Today’s precedent: Bama is only team to lose its conference championship and not drop a single spot in the playoffs. Anyone who thinks Yesterday’s bama team is better than Notre Dame doesn’t watch film.
