Nothing I must have. No place I must visit. No bucket list. I don’t like waiting in line. Theme park food is overpriced and terrible. The protocols of modern travel are not for me. Group activity makes me want to jump off a building and I despise most “movements”. Most “art” seems like elaborate “design” and most popular forms of entertainment look like noticeable algorithms for recouping costs. The excitement I get on a daily basis no matter where I am, is sitting with a note book and a pencil and seeing what comes forth from my subconscious and conscious se having an open discussion. Sometimes it is a new part for one of my books I’m writing and sometimes it’s an idea for a piece of magic I have been working on for years. This conversation happens all through the day and I actually schedule them with time reserved. Most of the time they are short sessions, but there many small ones throughout the day. I also keep a bass guitar and mic ready to go at all times in my kitchen. Sometimes I practice stamina and skill and sometimes I compose. If you want to learn a something on a deep level, you must make it easily available to practice. Out of sight really is out of mind. The new little creations I pull out of my head are exciting because if they have even a little bit of something to them, they might become something alive that can transform into something that will grow, live and become a part of my daily life. Sometimes these are actual objects but sometimes they are just ideas and thought experiments that invigorate and lead to more discoveries. Treasure hunting in my psyche and using the ingredients for my arts and own personal entertainment has been how I conduct my business ever since I was a little kid. Organized self development seems popular on the vanity page but not as much in the value department. Why do you like what you like? What makes you want to learn more? How do you learn? What’s good for the goose might not always be good for the gander. In your imagination there is a subconscious bubbling underneath filled with gods and monsters that are there for you to explore their origins and functions! Have fun but beware of your own fears, for they will consume you if they notice your weaknesses. When the fakers notice someone noticed they are “fake”, beware! The false find themselves surrounded by sounding boards and will secretly plot to kill the real stuff that diminishes the “value” they are selling. This also applies to your vision of yourself that you see. Never lie to yourself about your intentions. Anytime you want insight and it’s not clear, ask yourself how you really feel but emphasize that no one is around to hear the opinion but yourself. You are the god and monster. Treat accordingly and watch the conversation begin!

@ByronColey1 RIP indeed! I remember hearing Martin Mull on a bandstand in Central Park when he was fairly unknown. When I heard his wry delivery at first I thought 'What a smug ego centric - but as soon as I got close enough to see the smart smirk on his face, I realized what a comedian!

@IllinoiseStage Wonderfully talented dancers, great musicians, fabulous score/soundtrack.... but a boring 90 minutes of just dance and songs with lyrics I couldn't make out from my 3rd row seat. They could have at least projected the lyrics... tedious! Read the Times review....

Don't bother seeing the new 'Illinoise' if you're not a huge fan of watching dancers for 90 minutes move to music you can hear and lyrics you can't... I agree with the Times... it's like one too long 80's music video... you can't understand! Nice seat though.. 3rd row!

Gothic Horror Movie Binging started with the great Vincent Price, one of the most prolific horror stars! I highly recommend BLOOD THEATRE 1973 directed by Douglass Hickox co-starring the always alluring Diana Rigg of Avengers fame and recently Game of Thrones. A masterpiece!

@GroovyBruce love Bruce’s Bubbah Ho Tep! I saw it at a cast & crew screening in LA a century ago! Ozzie Davis as JFK delusional - Ella Joyce’s nurse was hysterical. Where are my friends from the crew?

This is how jeans get distressed. You see the mask, the goggles, and yet, this worker is probably still breathing in enough of those tiny fibers to permanently damage their lungs. If only there was a way to get holes in jeans without harming someone in the process…
