Isn’t it weird how unsubsidized consumer goods like TVs, appliances, clothes, all get cheaper and cheaper…while anything government puts its hands on, healthcare, housing, food, tuition, cars, utilities…just gets more and more unaffordable? Oh well. Probably nothing.

I still can't get over how good this is. Conservatives have always stuck with the "It doesn't work" argument against Leftism while pointing to their charts and graphs, hoping people will follow along. But THIS is the argument to make. 👇Leftism is ugly. It's repulsive. It's disgusting. It's lame. It's immoral. It's boring. It's depressing. This isn't a fight between two competing economic models, one of which happens to work better. This is a fight between beauty and ugliness. Building and destruction. Thankfulness and resentment. The Arcane Texas Fact of the Day: The Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association was launched at Graham, Texas, on February 15, 1877, under the name Stock-Raisers' Association of North-West Texas. Cattlemen in Oklahoma, New Mexico, and the Indian Territory were invited to join. The call for the initial meeting was made in the fall of 1876 by a few leading cattlemen, among whom were James C. Loving and C. C. Slaughter. The immediate objective was to systematize the "spring work" and to curb cattle rustling. The first meeting was held at the courthouse in Graham (rather than under an oak tree, as subsequent legend had it). Among the ranchers present were John Nicholas Simpson, Samuel Burk Burnett, and Joseph Graham. Carter was elected president of the association and Loving was elected secretary. Such strong measures against cattle thieves were proposed at the original meeting that some present did not take membership for fear of retaliation by the lawless element. Cattle rustling was a serious, serious offense. As a wise old philosopher once said, "You know how it goes, Jake. You ride with an outlaw, you die with an outlaw. Sorry you crossed the line."
