@MelissaUpton7 @ASCP_Chicago I am very saddened to hear this news. She and I served together on the ASCP board of directors many years ago, and I know she also had a very distinguished tenure as the chair of the BOC’s Board of Governors. She will be missed.

Deeply saddened by the loss of Dr. Kathleen Becan-McBride- extraordinary educator, author of 20 textbooks, leader in #phlebotomy education, beloved @ASCP_Chicago volunteer. She endowed a scholarship for #phebotomy students through the @ASCP_Chicago Foundation. RIP, dear friend!

@EJDionne The GOP devotion to Reagan is talismanic. Reagan advocated for open borders, common sense gun control, raising the gas tax, etc. Policy-wise, today’s GOP bears little resemblance to their iconic folk hero.

@SBtotheDub Ct value tells you how much virus is in the transport media, not the patient. Pre-analytical variables too numerous and too varied to standardize. Ct abuse by those who otherwise deem themselves informed will be a lasting legacy of this pandemic.

Your friendly reminder from a #clinicalmicrobiologist that a Ct >30 does not mean that someone is NOT infectious (Ct’s impacted by specimen quality, assays etc), there is no infectiousness test, and much more to infectiousness than solely viral load & antigen. #subtweet
