AIDS is returning to kill in parts of Zambia, thanks to Trump's cuts to U.S. programs that had successfully fought HIV infection. trib.al/UsOaqJw

@DesBailes @Julius_S_Malema @CyrilRamaphosa @afriforum So you will only be happy if the magistrate/judge is a EFF member?
English

It is alleged that conservative Afrikaner Twanet Olivier, who convicted Malema, is an AfriForum member. This needs to be investigated asap. A massive conflict of interests.

@AdvDali_Mpofu Is he 400 years old? No. So your argument is poor as usual and collective punishment is a crime if you didn't know already.
English

And what must happen if your crime is stealing an entire country, enslaving its people, raping its women & killing its children over a period of 350years?
If u REALLY think all those CRIMES can be erased by that “GNU” piece of paper designed by CR & signed by Mbalula..THINK AGAIN!

If you act like a common criminal, you should face the consequences of a common criminal.

@cpt_depression_ I wonder what his white lawyer thinks about this attack on the judicial fraternity?
English

@vlok_andre @Neiljolly12 Did he show any signs of remorse for this actions? If not then he could easily think if he got away with it once there's no harm, excuse the pun but I can do it again.
English

Him being a politician is not the issue. I accept the guilty verdict, and that he is to be punished. I would have been direct imprisonment for anyone, not just him. Imprisonment is a harsh sentence, and should be an absolutely last resort. Add to that the political ammunition and platform this hands his party on a platform, at this time in our country, and all those roads, for me, lead to punishment short of direct imprisonment
English

I am not a fan of the man, and the guilty verdict was correct, but direct imprisonment is not what is needed here, and it has implications for our nation as well. I trust that the appeal will correct this

[BREAKING NEWS] EFF leader Julius Malema sentenced to direct imprisonment. #Newzroom405
English

@AtholT She said it wasn't a real gun so I believe her.......NOT.
English

@Newzroom405 Well he is a threat because he will think if he got away with it once then putting the public at risk again is no problem.
English

Researcher, Prof. Richard Pithouse says the five-year sentence for Julius Malema is excessive, arguing that prison should be reserved for those who pose a direct threat to public safety.
