Two interesting notes from my Hopkins interview today that won’t be in the upcoming piece.
1. He thinks that his performance against Tarver was him at his absolute best.
2. He said that if he had ever fought James Toney, both of them would have wound up in the ICU.

@snboxing He was a good analyst on HBO. It was interesting because he would describe things a fighter should be doing, from a fundamentals point of view -- advice he did not follow during his prime. He knew the science but took an athletic and less-orthodox approach to his own technique.

I think Roy Jones is a fantastic fight analyst. Sees the sport differently than many others and doesn’t fall into groupthink.
