Crazy that in a night you can have an idea, create a saas app on Cloudflare Pages (Nextjs) with auth (Clerk), create the entire API service (Workers+DO+SQL+hono+d1) that scales globally and horizontally, with a billing/metric engine (CF AA) and deploy it all..
Hardest part is the landing page/copy + docs.
Will be reaching out tomorrow for some testers if anyone is keen.. It's passive, privacy-friendly browser authentication

In all fairness, even software companies struggle with security. Eg Okta was breached in a similar way two years in a row and another vendor - Cloudflare - had to step in to remind Okta what Security 101 looks like (and do it for Okta):

Security researcher reports critical security issue to Ecovacs (their top-of-line smart vacuum cleaner can be take over via Bluetooth). Company ignores it for 10 months. Researcher goes to mainstream media, ABC News has a field day, and Ecovacs suddenly wakes up.

Since early 2000s, neither consumers nor businesses pay for browsers - despite a browser needing a lot of resources to build and maintain. They are funded from other profits.
It's anyone's guess if they will pay for LLMs. My bet is we'll see a similar fate as browsers have seen.

In the 90s, Netscape found a promising business generating $$: sell web browsers. Microsoft then demolished this category by offering a free browser

@GergelyOrosz My family and I once returned from a trip late at night to find our EV bricked in the airport parking garage. It had apparently depleted the 12V trying to phone home with poor signal.

My electric car needed to be jumpstarted b/c its 12V (low voltage) battery depleted.
The main (high voltage) battery was full.
The high voltage battery charges the low voltage one, *only* when the car is turned on. The 12V one in needed to turn the car on.

I feel like a large amount of GDP is locked up because it is difficult for person A to very conveniently pay 5 cents to person B. Current high fixed costs per transaction force each of them to be of high enough amounts, which results in business models with purchase bundles, subscriptions, ad-based, etc., instead of simply pay-as-you-go. As an example, I'd like my computer to auto-pay 5 cents to the article/blog that I just read but I can't, and I think we're worse for it. In a capitalist system, transactions between entities are the gradient signal of the economy. Because our pipes don't support low magnitude terms in the sums, the gradients are not flowing properly through the system. I'm not familiar enough with payments to have an idea of specific solutions, but I expect we'd see a lot of positive 2nd / 3rd order effects if the gradients were allowed to flow properly, frictionlessly and with much higher resolution.
