@metaLulie @forshaper What are the comparatively negative effects of meditation for heady people?
English

@metaLulie @forshaper Interesting. Where can I read about this?
English

@forshaper also people don’t talk about when it’s counterproductive enough
and how terrible it is compared to Alexander Technique for heady people
English

@shreyas same thought often.
but on google calendar, your completed tasks show up - crossed out.
so satisfying to see.

@joshjob42 @theferrit32 @taliesinSF @AlecStapp @ZPostFacto Think of this sentence - That position is flawed, Kripke claims. All the time sentences have complete clauses that end in commas, not periods. The issue with putting periods in quotes in all settings is that the period is a universal indicator the sentence is over.

@windlesshickory @theferrit32 @taliesinSF @AlecStapp @ZPostFacto Do you mean the sentence on the following line?
“I like it.”, he said.
Because yes.

@nickcammarata You should check out David Lewis. He’s one of the 20th century’s great “philosopher’s philosophers” (in league there with Parfit and Kripke) and famously argued from purely epistemic and semantic grounds that every logically possible world exists.

@nickcammarata Think immune systems can generally weaken across threats. Also, my dr told me there will be an explosion of autoimmune diseases since unstimulated immune systems attack themselves. That’s why having a dog lick your face as a kid is great for your body!

@kyosaku_jon Do your legs fall asleep/ has the Burmese posture helped with that? Thank you!!!

@AmandaAskell Pardoning everyone because there is no moral responsibility, let’s see how it works out!

@nickcammarata I feel like people's chillness with IFS isn't exactly them saying they think it's right, more like "yup this sounds super useful and pretty harmless"
English

To me the most surprising thing about Internal Family Systems is how chill everyone is with it. It’s a radical theory that says the brain is fundamentally about coordinating multiplicity
It’s like Darwin proposing evolution and everyone’s like “eh yeah that’s probably right”

@nickcammarata It’s weird that the chips are out, the blinds are drawn and the items near the left window are put to the side. Maybe someone’s ‘on a diet’ and trying to hide some sneakages from an SO.

@max_hodak It’s the world around the kids that is changing in spurts and spasms, and that causes the clustering.
