Delta Airlines CEO in new interview on why they chose Amazon Leo over @Starlink: “Amazon brings a lot more than just satellite technology. They bring great retailing capability and Amazon Prime and video gaming technologies, which Starlink does not have. I think the opportunities, in terms of the improved bandwidth with a much lower price point than what we’ve ever seen from Starlink, will make a big difference. Of course, we expect Starlink will be warning people that we’re going to go with an inferior product. But I’m not too worried about partnering with Amazon.” bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

Yes, the app works. But do you remember when the Delta app came out? It had some WOW factor. Delta was innovating. These days, Delta has to sue CRWD to hide the state of its IT... Between the planes, the wifi, IT, hard for me not to see a purposeful lack of investment. The CEO is squeezing every drop of goodwill from his customers - but imho, Delta isn't the premium it used to be. And Starlink may very well be the straw that breaks my back! reuters.com/sustainability…

@winstonsmithO @SawyerMerritt @Starlink I have not tried Air Canada app, I could see where Fly Delta could be improved, but it seems to just work for me. Maybe because it’s been the same for 10 years lol.

@winstonsmithO @SawyerMerritt @Starlink Fly Delta app is good. Planes are old but clean and service is great. Went through JFK in January and the terminal was a construction zone. The WiFi is frustrating slow and far from seamless.

I am a Democrat and a lifelong human rights activist. I strongly believe in multiculturalism and that diversity is our strength. But let me be clear: Zohran Mamdani poses a fundamental threat to the Jewish community of New York City. His active misinformation and incitement, if left unchecked, will almost certainly lead to violence and otherwise avoidable deaths.

Former U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates on Netanyahu: He told me in July 2009 that the Iranian regime was fragile and would crumble at the first attack. I told him then he was dead wrong — that he was underestimating the resilience of the Iranians. This is what he's been trying to sell for years.

"We will not defend Taiwan, and we are halting arms shipments to the island, since they themselves are attempting to instigate a war against China"—Trump's words from a recent interview can be interpreted in precisely this way. The Ukraine scenario is repeating itself. In the event of a Chinese attack, Trump will likely go a step further and ask: "Taiwan, why did you start a war when you held absolutely no cards?" t.me/MirovichMedia/…

@winstonsmithO @clashreport Leave Iran alone. Iran doesn’t grift the American taxpayer. Iran doesn’t bribe American politicians

@CburgesCliff @gerardtbaker Well, I laid out the facts. You still have not presented any fact to back your claim. It is objectively the case the US posture in the ME is dramatically better now than 2 years ago. Likewise in Central and South America.

Afraid not, but understand that believing that would absolve one from listening to criticism. The one thing I am not is hyper-partisan. If anything I lean right (so would lament the absence of an option for principled conservatives if I voted down there). I just like evidence-based policy performed in a country’s interest. It used to be normal in the US (as it largely still is elsewhere) that politics ended at the border, so it amazes me how some can be so blind to what is so clearly visible. But there are many on this site (most acting on behalf of US adversaries) who would like everyone to believe that everyone is hopelessly hyperpartisan. 🤷‍♂️

Waiting for the 4D chess people to explain how the incipient surrender of Taiwan to China and abandonment of a central pillar of US security in the Asia-Pacific for 50 years is in fact another stroke of pure genius from President Metternich.
Acyn@Acyn

Trump on Taiwan: When you look at the odds, China is very, very powerful, big country. That's a very small island. Think of it, it's 59 miles away. We're 9500 miles away. That's a little bit of a difficult problem. Taiwan was developed because we had presidents that didn't know what the hell they were doing. They stole our chip industry.

@EliasMonsor @clashreport Don’t be a victim. Don’t look for scapegoats. Congress voted to go to war to Irak. We have agency. Only the weak dodge responsibility.
