Continued claims that Nancy Pelosi was responsible for January 6 have been repeatedly investigated and debunked. Multiple official investigations, including the bipartisan January 6 Committee, found no evidence that Pelosi planned, caused, or orchestrated the attack on the Capitol. The attack was carried out by Trump supporters attempting to stop the certification of the 2020 election after weeks of false claims about election fraud promoted by Donald Trump and his allies. Now many of those same people are defending or ignoring Trump’s violent rhetoric and inflammatory imagery while he calls himself a “peacemaker.” So which is it? Either leaders should be held accountable for encouraging dangerous behavior, or they shouldn’t. You can’t blame Pelosi without evidence while giving Trump a free pass.
