#Christianity #Christian #Philosophy #DigitalID Be vigilant and be sure you say "NO!" to the Digital ID regardless of how anyone threatens you - repent and believe in Jesus' person, in His atoning death for your sins, His finished work and His resurrection; nothing more.

#FolkloreSunday The hulders are nymph-like creatures in Norwegian folklore, that dwell inside mountains and underground in the woods. When nature wakes up in spring after a long and cold winter, the hulders also come out of their otherworldly realm. The hulders are guardians of the forest and represent the beauty and danger of wild nature. They are usually depicted as beautiful and seductive women with long, golden hair, looking for men who are alone in the wilderness. Many legends tell of men who are mesmerized by a hulder and her promises of sensual pleasures and eternal love, but when they notice her tail and realize that she is otherworldly, it is often too late. Men who were lured into following a hulder into the mountains, usually disappeared, never to be seen again. 🎨 Nataša Ilinčić

An image from a row of shelves in my library of a few weird, supernatural and ghostly books from Victorian times to the early 20th century. If it’s outright strange or fantastic, it’s probably on one of my shelves. Or hopefully will be, one day.

Close shop - flush the property to the public domain if you have any decency left. At least to 3.5 era publications... We aren't buying any corporate SLOP anymore and the "Woke" club in Seattle/Portland is not going to support it either once it's not "Fashionably Radical" and the Private Equity is moving on to loot another bit of America (Fast food) already so they likely want to get a tax break/write off and run. It's a HOBBY, not an "Industry" The game is in the PLAYERS not some company. Rules to a game can't be copyright/trademarked - if CHESS was new today anyone could make a chess board, just might have to modify the pieces a little. AND we don't need big companies anymore. Not like you'll get us in the shopping mall bookstores in exchange for piles of "Blaatezu" smelling compromise with outside groups who hate the hobby and the players... We can make our own games, play with friends and if we buy any 3rd party we'll make sure it has "Problematic" content to some degree to make sure it isn't corporate and isn't one of the dunderhead grifters you hired. From the perspective of an Xer we have an $8 million Cray Supercomputer on our desktop and a direct line to short-run manufacturing and printing. We do not NEED big companies and the compromises they demand to maximize profits. "Dead, Jim...!" Long live the HOBBY. Beg Blackrock to flush it NOW so they can do it when they can guarantee a huge tax write-off and a stock short-sell and run with the $. Down the road we'll be demanding this NOT be the case - that politicians NOT give bailouts to luxury/media companies that the SEC lock up stock short-sells. Remember what happened to Gamestop early 2021 when they tried to wreck it for profit and the stocks got "Stonk'd"? FLUSH it to the PUBLIC DOMAIN - at least up to 3.5 Era - you can KEEP 4th Ed (place bitter laughtrack here) and well 5th is the Kiddie Monty Haul stuff but can lead back to 3.5 and legit OSR... ALL the "Official" materials, books, etc.

NASA releases insane new image of Helix Nebula. 700 light-years away from us. It's the closest nebula to Earth. Constantly watching us.

In Japanese folklore, the nine-tailed shapeshifter fox, Kitsune, can take on human form once it reaches the age of one hundred. The fox spirit can be male or female and can replicate humans exactly, often assuming the shape of a young woman. 🎨Sarah Graybill #Folklore

It’s so cool how many Germanic tribes were named after weapons. The Saxons were called ‘the Knives’ (Seaxan), and the Franks were called ‘the Javelins’ (Francan). A mysterious tribe mentioned in one of the earliest English poems was called ‘the Sword Men’ (Sweordweras).

The Sidhe of Ireland are said to play silver harps whose melodies were described as both sweet and unsettling. Acoustics shows that overlapping frequencies create beating patterns that feel uncanny, the same effect that folklore calls “fairy music.” #fairytaletuesday

@Wizards_DnD I'll say it here, too: Get ready to burn, WotC - you won't be missed. We're also gladly replacing you. The Subject Matter is OUR Nerd SFF genre(s) to preserve and cherish, not yours to piss on and secretly mock behind closed doors - there's no doubt that you're all doing that!

How exactly do you think this is going to work when people have been giving you feedback for the last 20 years, but you've ignored them? I've submitted my reply, but the chances you will actually read it and follow the advice there, as well as all of the replies here is pretty much 0%. Who on planet Earth would want to talk to someone that does not listen? Most people have moved on. Others have made their own settings. ... ?!?

@LibertyForAll19 I'm a worldbuilding hoarder as well - they'll never be able to ruin that part of the creative process, and the few of us Millennials and Gen Z who actually care when the Plastic Nerd trend dies will be the ones to use Worldbuilding to recreate all of SFF anew, free from LGBT-BS.

Worldbuilding is about all that's left of the 1970s and 80s not marred by modern revisionism and watered-down play. Where are the world builders? No systems, no rules debate. Just making a fantastical world.
