The Indian state banned my Instagram account today. Over the past few years, I’ve built a body of work documenting and reflecting on Kashmir, its history, its present, and its r3s1stance. Alongside a 9-hour teach-in, I also explored the psychological dimensions of occupation in greater depth. Through this, this page came to be used by many across the world as a reference point for Kashmir-related work. That account is now no longer accessible in India and in Indian-occupied -Kashmir. But the work does not disappear. I am currently in the process of building an archive so this material can remain accessible, organized, and preserved , so that it continues to be available for learning, reflection, and unlearning. I am also thinking through what an ethical and sustainable form of preservation looks like so that it continues to remain free of access to everyone as it has always been. I have a larger body of work that spans not only Kashmir, but also imperialism and related political and historical contexts. A post I loved on instagram by "Jalees Hayder": Lately, we are witnessing the normalization of something deeply disturbing: the sexualisation of resistance figures: spokesmen, leaders, fighters. And this is being called "solidarity" and "humanization". It is NOT. Fetishizing those who are fasting, grieving, under bombardment, resisting and carrying the weight of an entire people is not admiration. It is dehumanization. It reduces struggle into mere spectacle that too according to hollow standards we never ever adopted to. It turns principle into something consumable. It also allows distant spectators to feel involved without ever being accountable. This too is a fact that true is not new. Empire has always thrived on turning the oppressed into objects: to be watched, desired, circulated, and consumed. What is new is how openly this is now performed, and how easily it is defended. We must all come together to stop this harm from further being encouraged and normalized.

I don’t use Twitter anymore, but just came here to address the hysterical nonsense and fear mongering that’s been ongoing about the honorable mujahhid Gen Esmail Qaani. What can one say but this that War isn’t a PlayStation game. Many in the online sphere talk about assassinations and covert ops like fandom drama, and enemy media is exploiting that to smear him as “traitor” or “Israeli asset.” since last year. The Quds Force is a clandestine organization; its commander doesn’t move like a public politician and isn’t answerable to every IRGC branch, but directly to the Supreme Leader. Qaani wasn’t some random replacement; he was Gen Soleimani’s long-time deputy, handpicked from within the same structure, with decades of frontline and regional experience. The question “why wasn’t he assassinated too?” completely misunderstands how covert warfare works: Soleimani was struck during a very public, trackable trip; Qaani’s job now is to learn from that, stay low-profile, and keep the resistance coordinated from the shadows from Hezbollah’s logistics to the rest of the axis fronts. Turning his necessary secrecy into “suspicion” is a deliberate psy-op to cause fitna among Shias and erode confidence in the resistance. Don’t let enemy narratives reduce real war to conspiracy-bait content for people chasing dopamine online plz.
