On this day in 1990, the unification of Yemen between South and North Yemen was declared.
The previous regime dealt with the people of the South in a negative and treacherous manner, and most of the Southern leadership was assassinated on orders from imperialism, given that the South, before unification, was socialist and aligned with the Soviet Union.
These assassinations led to the declaration of secession by the southern leadership in 1994, and the former regime that had ruled the north before unification emerged victorious. After the 1994 war, the former regime treated the south as spoils of war, not as partners.
The treachery and tyranny of the former regime were not limited to the South, but extended to the North as well, acting as an obedient policeman to America and Saudi Arabia.
The previous regime's betrayal of the South made southern Yemen a ripe arena for any foreign power to occupy in exchange for liberating and granting them independence from the North, which encouraged Saudi Arabia and the UAE to occupy southern Yemen.
The Yemeni people will triumph over the schemes and plans of the enemies who seek to divide Yemen, and Yemen will soon return liberated, united, strong, and more prosperous than ever before.
Those who want to divide Yemen will be consigned to the dustbin of history, and Yemen will remain one and united.
i need lawyers based in the UK and the US to help me track down and take legal actions against two organizers who stole +£10k and $14k from my cousins’ fundraisers. this is unacceptable.
I enjoyed growing mint in my little garden. It smells wonderful in the morning. Most of the people in the camp benefit from my mint. I'm happy to offer them something useful.
I began writing from a selfish, individual impulse—a quest to immortalize my own self, to deny the status of being just a number, and to ensure I am remembered as a story, not a digit. Soon, however, I shifted this path; I shared very little about myself and my own life, and instead turned to narrating the stories of my people. This is what I now see as a debt around my neck, a beloved duty imposed upon me. It is a hell I have inflicted upon myself—the hell of listening to the stories and the suffering wrought upon my people by monsters, and documenting it.
Yet, the hell of oblivion is harsher than the hell of bearing witness...
I grieve for myself, for having channeled my youth and energy into immortalizing death rather than life, into immortalizing blood rather than love.
Israel has destroyed us and annihilated us in so many ways.
Israel tortures us, and continues to do so, in ways I cannot find the words to express...
"The jews may be able to uproot my body from Palestine, but I want to plant something within my people that they will never be able to uproot."

“To be successful in struggle requires a certain degree of awareness and understanding of more than material reality; success requires a spiritual consciousness. It is necessary to recognize that struggle is a natural aspect of creation; that to be engaged in struggle is perfectly consistent with the will of God.” –Imam Jamil Al-Amin (formerly H. Rap Brown)

it always amazes me how the colour of the honey and consequently its flavour profile arises from what type of plant the bees forage on to get their nectar
I've been hanging tomatoes so they grow bigger, and trimmimg the leaves. This is my first time growing tomatoes, and I don't know if I'm doing it well.
Even though I live in a small tent I like to show you that I am growing some food to help my family.
It’s small, but meaningful nonetheless. The little market down the road usually saves the scrap meats and sets them aside so that we can feed the neighborhood cats. Just thought I’d share some of the little acts of kindness around us.
My family is part of the targeted San Diego mosque…my babies were supposed to start preschool there. Anti-Muslim racism continues to kill and shatter the fragments of safety we’re trying to hang on to…
