A lot of customers dont realize that servers often have to tip out (from their own pocket) the kitchen, the hosts, busses, bartenders and sometimes manager. So your tipping is going to be be spread amongst all of the staff who made your dining experience, what it was. So if you're like, "Im not tipping as much because I had to wait 2min for my ketchup", you're not just "sticking it to the server" by dropping their tip.... you're punishing the entire restaurant staff for whatever minor transgression they did.

@hashjenni Because the actual place with the metal detector was the doorway into the banquet hall. This was a security detail in the hallway because the hotel was open for business and people were coming and going as they chose so they couldn’t close the hotel
