The federal government is exploring plans to build Australia’s first new oil refinery since the 1960s, in a move that could cost up to $10 billion as concerns mount over the nation’s fuel security.
The Prime Minister is currently in talks with energy companies to gauge their interest in the massive infrastructure project, amid ongoing disruptions to global trade and escalating tensions in the Middle East.
Australia currently has just two oil refineries remaining after eight facilities closed in the early 2000s. One refinery operates in Brisbane, while the other is located in Geelong. #oil #oilrefinery #petrol #fuel #australia

#BREAKING Anthony Albanese shut down most of our refineries to combat “climate change”
Now the goose is about to blow $10 billion of our tax money to build another one because we’ve run out of fuel.
How did this guy get to the position that he’s in?

New Australia Institute research published today shows that the Japanese Government makes more revenue taxing its imports of Australian gas than the Australian Government makes from the export of our gas.
Both major parties in Australia need to be dissolved & those responsible for these decisions should be jailed.
This is beyond a joke.
“It’s hard to believe how badly Australians have been ripped off by gas export companies,” said Dr Richard Denniss, co-CEO of the Australia Institute.
“Japan, a country with no gas, oil or coal reserves of its own collected almost $40 billion over the last five years while the Australian PRRT provided only $7 billion to Australians”.

Milk supply crisis looming in Australia: Plastic bottle shortages could empty supermarket shelves nationwide.
80% of our HDPE pellets (essential for milk bottles) are now imported and they’re a direct byproduct of fuel refining.
This is a total mess. Both governments have dropped the ball! 🇦🇺 😠

“Britain could face shortages of chicken, pork and other foods this summer if the war in Iran continues, a secret government analysis has found.
Officials have drawn up contingency plans for a “reasonable worst-case scenario” amid fears that the closure of the Strait of Hormuz will lead to shortages of carbon dioxide, which is critical to the food industry and fizzy drinks.”
~ The Times.
Successive governments have failed to ensure that Britain has enough domestic food security and food production commitments to deal with a supply crisis. Far too much reliance on overseas imports rather than supporting British farmers and food producers. And now, literally, the chickens have come home to roost.

While in Perth, I met with members of Friends of Israel WA and representatives of the Holocaust Museum WA.
As Yom HaShoah was observed this week, we spoke about the importance of remembering the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust, and honouring the strength and resilience of survivors.
I have said before — and it remains as important as ever — never again is now.
The hatred that led to the Holocaust did not begin with violence. It began with silence, indifference, and a failure to confront antisemitism early.
In the wake of the Bondi tragedy, Australians have been reminded that we cannot take safety or social cohesion for granted, and must stand united against hatred in all its forms.
Remembrance is not passive. It carries a responsibility — to call out antisemitism, reject hatred, and defend the values that hold our society together.
Thank you for the important work you do to preserve these stories and educate future generations.

The fertiliser from Brunei helps grow the food we buy, and drive our economy.
That's why I'm here, to help secure what our farmers need to keep Australia moving.
While the war in the Middle East continues to impact supply in Australia, it is more important than ever that we work closely with our neighbours.

It’s personal for Veteran Sam Bamford who goes ballistic over the arrest of decorated war hero Ben Roberts- Smith.
He describes the horror of losing 3 mates shot by Taliban soldiers who had infiltrated the Afghan army working along side the AFD.
With the first responders to make the scene safe being Ben Roberts-Smith and his team.
‘You don’t get to send us into that type of war zone and then judge us for what happened over there when we get home.’
