@learnwithmattc @photomatt WordPress is the open operating system for websites. OpenClaw is an open operating system for agents.
English

Hey @photomatt I'd really like to understand this statement better:
"The closest thing I’ve seen to a spiritual successor isn’t another CMS, it’s been OpenClaw."
Is that because of how it helps with distribution and "publishing" of a sort?

@FounderKyle give @TeamBreakdance a try- it removes all of the issues around limited frontend styling and you get all the benefits of WP. you can try it free on our site
English

@KatieKeithBarn2 This is why free versions on .org are so valuable. You get a free landing page on both sites!
English

The main reason that so many WP product companies have declining sales at the moment seems to be that Google is prioritizing bigger sites more than before, which is pushing us down a few places.
It's particularly frustrating that there's a cloned version of the wordpress.org repository on wordpress.com. That's 1 more big site for smaller product companies to compete with and is completely unnecessary and unbeneficial to the WordPress ecosystem 😞

@jkudish @raquel__karina @AlexDenning @richtabor @bryceadams it was so many things- the one word i keep coming back to is “absurd” 😂
English

@raquel__karina @AlexDenning @richtabor @wordpressjoe @bryceadams It was so much fun! Excellent company 🤩
English

10 courses, 5+ hrs, Michelin Star; sure but breaking bread at #wceu with amazing company is the pinnacle.
After all the shit, this community is still incredible. 💯😌

@raquel__karina @wordpressjoe do we have a pic from outside dinner? Also has Joe filled you in on what transpired after 12am?
English

@wordpressjoe At least wait until the new set up arrives before you lose interest hahhaha
English

Another incredible #WCEU in the books! One of the most productive WordCamps I've ever attended. Thank you to the organisers for putting on such a fun event.
Ended it in Milan with @wordpressjoe - cycling around, eating food, talking shop, and of course buying vintage lamps 💡

English

@wordpressjoe I learnt from the best. Related.. I think your next @ needs to be teamasterjoe
English

@james_collins_ @wordpressjoe There's another short one in the basket that I love even more. They both need repairs though so I'll sort that this week and post a better pic when restored 😁
English

@KatieKeithBarn2 @clickup we use Hubstaff- some people find the screenshots and such intrusive, but i dont think it’s any different from walking around the office and seeing someone’s screen in passing.
it also automatically processes payroll. no hr in the entire company.
English

We use @clickup to track time. I regularly check the timesheets for new team members; and only do it rarely for long-standing ones who I know well and trust.
How important do find time sheets in making sure remote team members are working honestly and efficiently? I struggle when people track large amounts of time on tasks that I would do quickly - how strict are you about this?
English

@AlexDenning amazing! i remembered the food in taipei being great when i was there before, but i think this time i didnt venture far enough from the venue 😂
English

@KatieKeithBarn2 I think this is the perfect application of micromanagement- do it yourself and be a part of the team until you learn it deeply enough to systematize it, and then delegate it with some sort of KPI to track results.
English

Do you have a process for checking your team's responses to complex pre-sales tickets?
I've been approving responses personally for a few months and found I added a lot of value which helped to close the sale. Obviously that's not sustainable long-term and it's wrong to micro-manage my team, so I've now asked my 2 most experienced support engineers to check each pre-sales response. Hopefully that will achieve the right balance.

Such good dim sums at #plumblossomroom in Taipei. The hack to good food at WordCamps is to hang with @wordpressjoe
Jason Coleman 🤔💡💻💾@jason_coleman
This was the good one @akshatc
English

Who's attending @WordCampAsia?
Let's meet and chat about WordPress, AI, Creator Economy, and automating websites!

English

Hey @lauraelizdunn, it was lovely to chat with you on WP Product Talk yesterday! Was it @ConvertKit that you said you use, and would you recommend it? Does it have all the features you need? I really need to leave Mailchimp.
