SEO in 2024 isn't just about *can* you rank – it's about *should* you rank. We've developed a "product/search intent fit" analysis to tackle this head-on. Think product/market fit, but for organic search. This tool helps us: * Understand what searchers truly want * Assess how well your product aligns * Make strategic decisions on content creation No more chasing vanity keywords or creating content that drives empty traffic. Every piece of content should serve both searchers and your business goals. Are you still creating content hoping it'll convert, or are you strategically aligning with search intent?

SEO is a long-term game, but if you do it right, it could really pay off. Working with @AlexDenning and the @getellipsis team on @wprssaggregator's revival has shown exactly that. Now for the product improvements... 👀

Excited to share a recent Ellipsis success story from our work with @wprssaggregator, working with @GabyAbela, @markzahra, and team 🚀 * 125% increase in clicks to their site * Optimized existing content, breathing new life into their blog * By June 2024, our work drove ~40% of their site traffic This was achieved through a combination of our Content Growth service and CMO as a Service offering. We collaborated closely with the Aggregator team on rebranding, CRO, pricing strategy, and .org visibility. Key takeaway: Effective SEO is a marathon, not a sprint. Consistency and patience pay off. @KatieKeithBarn2 I'd argue this is moderately useful and that just Googling a keyword will get you the same outcome + this introduces an unnecessary risk of hallucination – just Googling it is fine :)

"someone" was me and I'd argue I'm still right 😅 Just because you define a phrase in the next sentence, doesn't mean you get to ignore what the words in the phrase actually mean! From context "democratizing publishing" is taken to mean "process of publishing accessible to a wider audience" which is not what "democratizing" actually means.

I like chatgpt's answer 👇 "Democratize publishing" refers to making the process of publishing accessible to a wider audience, breaking down barriers that traditionally limited publishing to a select group of people or organizations. This concept involves providing tools, platforms, and opportunities that allow more individuals, regardless of their background, resources, or connections, to publish their content, ideas, and works. Here are key elements of democratizing publishing: Accessibility: Making publishing platforms easy to use and available to everyone. This includes reducing costs and simplifying the technical aspects of publishing. Inclusivity: Ensuring diverse voices and perspectives are represented. This involves supporting marginalized or underrepresented groups to share their stories and ideas. Technology: Utilizing digital tools and the internet to facilitate self-publishing. Examples include blogs, e-books, social media, and online content platforms. Education: Providing resources and knowledge to help individuals understand the publishing process, develop their skills, and improve the quality of their content. Community Support: Building networks and communities where creators can collaborate, get feedback, and support each other in their publishing endeavors. Overall, democratizing publishing aims to empower more people to contribute to the cultural and informational landscape, fostering a more diverse and rich public discourse.

Someone at WCEU told me that WordPress’ mission to “Democratize publishing” makes no sense because democracy is about allowing everyone to have a say in decisions, not allowing everyone to publish information online. Makes sense! However, I checked the wordpress.org mission statement which says that democratizing publishing is about allowing anyone to contribute to the WP project. It looks like a lot of people have misunderstood WordPress' mission - even the featured snippet in Google! If "democratizing publishing" refers to open source and welcoming community contributions then it makes a lot more sense.

I tried to buy a new phone recently, and I got lost in pages of affiliate spam. I gave up, looked for a dinner recipe instead, and got lost in stories of how the author found the recipe from a passerby on a mountain pass. In a genAI era, it is more important than ever to ask hard questions about the content we're creating, to ensure it is useful. If it is not useful, it will get competed-out by AI. getellipsis.com/blog/avoid-get…
