@haaaamburger @SavedAClickFGC I meant basic as in "normal -> special" and that's your whole combo. SF6 is a basic pick for a fighting game, but it also has extended combos with drive rush and OD, plus its juggle system isn't intuitive.

It's complicated. 1. The FGC isn't big enough for more than one king; 2. 1-in-6 SF6 players are from 🇯🇵, and they don't really show much interest outside of that game; 3. Invincible VS suffers from the same problem a lot of fighting games have: pandering to the FGC's tastes.

@ReviewsPossum Though technically "should of" and "should've" are phonetically the same, so you can only tell that in writing.

@_PaleblueDot__ @raizel2115 @SavedAClickFGC I'm a big fan of uni, but yeah, I'd not recommend it for a short-combo game. Plenty of the cast can juggle you for quite a while at midscreen off of a far poke. MBTL is similar enough to that, but I always preferred the feel of uni.

@wordsdepleted @raizel2115 @SavedAClickFGC UNI has pretty freeform combo theory and an autocombo you can get by mashing light repeatedly, but it does still get old being put in a blender and not allowed to play until the other guy is done regurgitating the combo he labbed.

@raizel2115 @SavedAClickFGC GBVS has generally short combos at midscreen, but there are characters who ignore that, or have very good corner carry. City of the Wolves is like SF6, where combo length is largely determined by how much drive gauge you've got. I guess it's been a while since we had one.

@raizel2115 @SavedAClickFGC Samurai Shodown (2019) has very short combos, but SNK kneecapped it on release. Still good if you don't mind discord fighters, or can get some friends into it. The others that come to mind are a bit variable.

@Franix97Twitch @ShitpostRock2 There's a lot of in-between, but the people who play the most are, well, the people who play the most. There are also fighting games out there with minimal combos or oki loops, but they still don't seem to retain the players who complain about not being allowed to play.

@ShitpostRock2 Even in stuff like Apex Legends or Marvel Rivals you can be a casual, lose, but still actually play the game. Fighting games are the only type of games where either you're actually a pro or you're absolutely nothing, there is no in-between.
