Forgot to say - that's it - I am done with X. 'Twitter' was nice but the neo-nazi symbolism and associated attitudes that permeate X combined with the tools to support pornographic images of children... I'm done with you

@FireBloke89 @bindelj There is a difference. You are not told to be ashamed of your sexual preference and you have never been (and likely never will) persecuted because of it.

What, exactly, are they being ‘proud’ about anyway? As far as I can see, it’s a preference for a particular type of Rumpy-Pumpy ….so what? just get on with it, why make a fuss about your predilections?….the rest of us don’t.….and we don’t expect a month of ‘celebrations’ about ourselves either! 🙄

Understaffing nurses is associated with a higher risk of sickness absence, highlighting that adverse working conditions can contribute to absenteeism and staff shortages. ja.ma/4cIt8WD @ora_dall @workforcesoton

I’ve just edited an academic article and replaced every mention of “paediatric populations” and “paediatric patients” with “children”. Using more complex language doesn’t make academic articles more scientific. It just makes them harder to read and understand.

NEW PAPER: Nursing is NOT a set of tasks. Our theoretical proposition elucidates the complexity of daily work. Understanding the complexity and interconnectednes of nursing care (and expertise needed) reveals the risks of staffing by task allocation sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

The vitriolic abuse directed at @jessphillips over the past few days is unwarranted and unacceptable. It is an example of the culture of abuse and intimidation that has become commonplace in our political discourse, disproportionately impacting women and people of colour. 🧵1/4

@CarryPliers @TheRustler83 @OpenVAERS I’ve not checked the data source - tbh although it looks too high. Only a small proportion of population get the vax under NHS & I doubt that many pay. Also notice the right axis is % of tests positive not number. In flu season things that look like flu are more likely to be flu

@CarryPliers @TheRustler83 @OpenVAERS Or we just need to see some different data. Two things happen in flu season - early on a lot of people get vaccines then a lot of people get flu. Are they the same people? Let's see rates of flu in vaccinated vs similar unvaccinated people - then we can talk.

@TomJoudrey This post and its replies serve as an object lesson in the fact that X is not a good place for nuance or irony…. I didn’t get the joke - but now I do (thanks another reply). It’s funny and clever but ‘man’ you’ve paid a heavy price!

@mdbuckley I’ve actually been struck by the amount of informed public debate there has been. My sense is that the debate in parliament- the first of several stages before anything passes into law - was informed by and reflected that public debate.

I find it staggering that a societal change of the magnitude of ‘assisted dying’ can get voted through on the basis of zero public debate, and only a few hours in Parliament. /1

The disappearance of smallpox remains one of the great medical mysteries of our time. Can't possibly think how it happened. We must research this more. No proper studies were ever done. I just want more data. #VaccinesWork ourworldindata.org/grapher/global…
