Excuse my ignorance on this. What year did we start letting 9 year olds take leads & steal bases? When we were 12 foot had to be on the base. Stealing at 9 years old & taking leads might be the dumbest thing to date I have seen on a baseball field at any level.

@wjeffpetty Its because you played shitty little league rules. Beginning after coach pitch leads and stealing are allowed in good leagues. It can be ugly at times but it teaches the game and is fun

@Toohey_sp @andyvolciak Disagree. Most HS I know, and I’ve worked with a lot of them across all sports, would welcome an S&C coach that is qualified. Most that are qualified are busy making a lot more money than an average HS program can offer.

It’s always fascinated me that college and professional sports organizations with the best coaches in the world trust qualified S&C coaches to handle performance.
But at the high school level, coaches with no background at all often wear that hat.
Put the kids first before ego.

Wasn't Auburn loyal when, a little more than a month later, it signed Pearl to what amounted to a lifetime contract worth $50 million?

Can we please implement a pitch clock for HS baseball games. Arms need to get in a rhythm. Pace of play needs to pick up. Guys that play at the next level have to have such a quick adjustment to the clock… Bring it to HS baseball.

@BrentASJax Middle school baseball doesn’t necessarily prepare you for high school. However, my kids 8th grade year his school won the DCPS tournament and there was immense pride on their faces. They both have their place.
