@dstaples What he doesn't realize is that he is a big part of the problem. He plays a non-structured game that has those around him playing catch up, and they are not good enough to play that way - no one is but him. That and there is a 50% chance Nurse will make the wrong decision.

Having listened to McDavid's comment itself, I'm not so sure the comment was any big deal. I don't see McDavid's comment as a shot against Knoblauch. He was simply praising a well-organized team and a coach he's come to know through the Olympic team. He had an admiring tone. Why wouldn't he? Tampa plays admirable hockey. And I've often seen him make this same "go ask the other guy" response when he's asked to comment on something that is someone else's responsibility. He tells the questioner not to ask him, but to go ask the person who is in charge of that. This is a sane response in the face of constant questions about things that are beyond his control. At the same time, after the game I did have the distinct feeling, just as I had after the loss to Florida, that the Oilers aren't getting any better, that this team is going to lose in the playoffs because in tight games it simply can't prevent goals against, at least not as well as the NHL's best teams like  Dallas and Tampa can prevent goals against.
