This is a little fucked. Scores of officers arrested regularly from @NiagRegPolice. I mean it's prolific. Last one. I just don't have the time. I'll use this as an example with the departments official claims of “transparency.” PC Const. Mark Taks, 25 years old, only two years on the fucking job: - May 2017, investigation into drug trafficking. - Oct 6, 2017, charged (steroids, cocaine, marijuana, prescription drugs). - March 20, 2018, charged again for breaching bail conditions. $100,000 bail assigned. - Placed under house arrest. - Dec 1, 2018, resigns. And today? I can't find any clear, publicly available court disposition. No final answer on how it ended. Now zoom out. - DS. Shane Donovan / PC. Nathan Parker (2018). Officer shoots officer, charges collapse, no full public explanation. - PC. Ben Tomiuck, Assault charge, resolved through diversion, back to duty. - PC. Kenneth Bettes (former officer). Multiple disturbing charges, no clarity on exit. - PC. Matthew Belzil. Repeated charges, then sues alleging he was framed. - PC. David Kukoly. 28-year officer, charged with multiple sexual assaults. - PC. Wendy Cools-Lartigue. Breach of trust, fraud-related charges while on duty. - PC. Scott Heron. 2012 smuggling arrest. Jailed. Later breach issues. - PC. Mark Taks. Trafficking. Breach. House arrest. Resignation. No clear outcome. That’s not one incident. It’s a pattern. And here’s the common thread: - Charges laid. - Public attention. - Then silence. - No clear explanation of how it ends. Zero accountability or closure. When a police service says it’s “transparent,” that doesn’t just mean announcing arrests. It means explaining everything that led us to an officer being charged and beyond. Transparency isn’t just how a story begins. It’s also how it ends. #onpoli #cdnpoli

@Educhatter I think you are following a red herring. A good way to not talk about funding, class sizes and Ministry takeovers.

@Educhatter 25 graduations. Never heard or seen anything political. Always student centered.

Graduation Ceremonies: Ontario announces new policy. Ceremonies will actually focus on the students, while upholding "apolitical, inclusive, and respectful" values. It's sad this needed to be articulated by the Minister. Common sense is making a comeback #ONTed #ONpoli
Melanie Bennet@MelanieBennet_

Ontario Education Minister @PaulCalandra has told school boards that graduation ceremonies must remain “student-centred, apolitical, inclusive, and respectful,” and not be used to “express political views” or “engage in divisive or contentious issues.” The letter also warns staff that social media posts promoting violence, racist commentary, stereotyping, or derogatory language are unacceptable.

#OTD 40 years ago, a hard-throwing, bespectacled righty named Tom Henke emerged from the Blue Jays’ bullpen for the first time. And for those of us who suffered through the bullpen woes of the early Jays' teams, it changed everything. I wrote about it: is.gd/9zHvKD
