why are people pretending like our surname convention isn’t based around the idea that the family is a man’s property? “why are you saying that they’re their father’s property are sons also their father’s property” ok so you agree, the last name IS the father’s name

it’s very funny how adults forget how little girls play. as a child my “ playing house” plot lines were as dramatic as a soap opera. there was infidelity, backstabbing and probably an asteroid coming to kill all life on earth as we know it.

@JessPected it’s never presented as distressing. they want excuse and leeway for feelings & behaviors that they honestly don’t think are that wrong, bc it isn’t unwanted and unwilling. if the rest of us find ourselves feeling out-of-control rage, that’s a “fuck I better fix this” experience
