Explaining the deletions to those asking. Imagine a seat where Candidate X wins by 5,000 votes. But before the election, 25,000 voters from Candidate X’s constituency are DELETED from the voter list. That means the number of deleted voters is FIVE TIMES larger than the victory margin. Of course, we can’t say HOW those 25,000 deleted people would have voted, elections are secret ballots. But if even a FRACTION of those deleted voters had voted for the losing candidate, the result would have CHANGED. Eg. for candidate X, if just 6,000 of DELETED voters voted for the losing side, the winner could have LOST the seat. When deletions are much larger than the winning margin, it means the election has been DETERMINED by the number of deletions.

Governor can maximum ask Mamata Banerjee to resign, but the Governor can never force her to do so. If Didi does not resign, the Governor can recommend President's rule. In that case, no political party will be able to remain as the ruler in Bengal. Again we have to face election in that case

Akhilesh seems to be the last man standing now. He will face the next real battle after SIR. Kejriwal lost in the first exercise after SIR. Didi is going the same way. Akhilesh is now the next real opposition leader to be targeted. But among all three, Akhilesh Yadav is the most open to feedback and the most connected to volunteers. I myself received a call from SP booth workers to check whether my vote was retained during SIR. It will be interesting to see how long he can hold on, because while he has an edge over the BJP, the opposition now needs a tsunami in its favour to even stake a claim to form the government. P.S. Both Kejriwal and Mamata might be losing numbers, but I do not consider them finished, they were ousted by the arithmetics.
