Gaza freedom flotilla ship Madleen, due to enter Palestinian waters at around 2am local time Monday, has been intercepted by Israeli vessels and quadcopter drones in international waters. The ship has been sprayed with an unknown substance; crew are reporting the ship is being boarded.

As a @dohainstitute scholar, I was privileged to present a study at #ECREA2024 on Gaza. My findings showed that the citizen-journalism initiative @Ceasefire_Track ran a successful #CeasefireNOW campaign in early 2024. More such research on Gaza is needed!

Well-served! I applaud @UNESCO's #WorldPressFreedom Prize Committee for awarding this year's prize to Palestinian journalists covering the war on Gaza. It is a shame that they are not more recognized for their sacrifice.
