God is so good folks! Today I found out along with @weatherdan, @ZachGilday, @wxpeytonlangfrd and several other coworkers that we have been nominated for a Mid-American Emmy award for our “One Supercell to Remember” documentary remembering the May 26, 2024 tornadoes. This is an amazing honor and I’m so thrilled that our work that night has been recognized! It will be a moment that I always remember as a meteorologist no matter where this career takes me! I would also like to congratulate @weatherdan for his other nominations in the “Weathercast” and “Weather-Anchor” categories! He is the best of the best folks, and I’m lucky to work alongside such an amazing mentor and God-fearing person!! Congratulations again to the man, the myth, the legend! God bless everyone, and see you bright and early Monday morning! #ARwx #NWANews

11am EDT Mon Aug 11th - Tropical Storm #Erin has formed in the far eastern tropical Atlantic just west of the Cabo Verde Islands.
Maximum sustained winds are 45 mph & intensification is forecast as it moves westward across the open tropical Atlantic.

Some pretty heavy downpours and some gusty winds are on their way to the Houston area. They won’t be as intense as they are over College Station but we’ll definitely see a few storms in the area! #HOUwx

#lockitin 😂 no, but seriously, it has been interesting watching the ECMWF-AI somewhat consistently resolve a TS. Of course, you can't rely on it, nor a t360 deterministic output. If AI is the future, this could be a good test case. Ultimately, anything beyond 8 days is just throwing darts blindfolded.
Realistically, there is a tropical wave off the coast of Africa, but there's also plenty of dust to choke it off, as well as some wind shear.
