Additional #tsunami information : this was a thrust #earthquake. That means the Pacific Plate subducted beneath the North American Plate. Built up stress was released in “slip” that resulted in up and down motion. That moves large quantities of seawater/induces poss tsunami.

BREAKING: 8.2 magnitude earthquake has occurred 75 miles SE of Chignik, AK. Tsunami warnings are in effect for the Aleutian Islands and parts of Alaska. A Tsunami watch is in effect for the Hawaiian Islands
