I think people have mistaken the reason why tis happens, and it has nothing to do with politics, or even the level of education per say. What happens when you pursue a higher education is that you expose yourself to more knowledge, ideas, thoughts, and experiences with different people, cultures, mindsets, etc. You learn how to think at a higher level as well. The less educated you are, typically, the less exposure to the world you have, so your stay at whatever level you reach. We see this phenomena too with people who travel as opposed to those who don't. The more a person travels, just like people with more education, the more ideologically left they tend to become, because they're busting out of that bubble they're in. There's learning more about the world and experiencing more. It's not a left or right thing - it's an exposure and experience thing.

No one is crying over the japanese navy sunk by several air detonated nukes while sailing to taiwan to attack the PLA. The threshold is way different, we are willing to use it, we are willing to escalate. Ultimately this will be a question of whether the US will allow their dog to cause nuclear war.

Let me make it absolutely clear for japan, intervening in our campaigns in Taiwan is a declaration of war on the nuclear-armed state of China. This is not a position the japanese prime minister, who is a dog of the United States has the authority to make. If japan wants to declare war on China, then we will retaliate with full force, and if the fallout is nuclear annihilation, then we are willing to go all the way until Armageddon comes.

Ugh. It’s complicated. Here’s the bottom line. Republicans captured the Supreme Court several years ago. They have “allowed” his lawlessness. 4 are corrupt as hell. Elon Musk, Putin and Netanyahu helped him cheat in the last election. He did NOT WIN all the swing states. Statistically impossible. They also didn’t really win the House of Representatives…same cheating. So, because of all that, they have the majority in both branches of Congress AND the Supreme Court is in their pocket, Behind Trump and the GOP is a giant organized crime syndicate. They will literally kill people to silence them. They also use bribes and threats to coerce members of Congress to go along with their crimes. Sadly, we have NO mechanism to remove any of them except elections, and need to have the majority in both houses of Congress to impeach, convict and remove. Our founding fathers never anticipated this level of corruption and made it difficult to remove a President and SCOTUS judges. We have a LOT to fix is we survive this nightmare.
