These issues were all carefully and thoughtfully addressed in the USMCA agreement that Trump negotiated in 2017/18.

Trump’s 25% tariff on Canadian auto imports is a devastating blow to hundreds of thousand of good, honest, hard-working Canadians. We Albertans have long pleaded with central Canadians to understand the importance of the energy industry to our economy. Well, now we have to show Ontarians that we share their outrage with this betrayal, and stand in solidarity with those whose livelihoods & communities are in real danger. Let’s not allow Trump to divide Canadians. We have to stand together to defend *all* industries and jobs. That means that everything should be on the table in terms of our potential strategic response. The 250+% tariffs that Canada put on dairy only kicked in when quantities went over quota, which they never did, hence dairy was tariff free. 99% of the trade was tariff free. Salty Idiot
