can someone humor me & tell me why this separation exists? it's cognitively expensive to have to switch this tab especially if you do it a lot any given day.
why can you not intelligently figure out what i want to do? why have these separate? can you simply not create one elegant interface here? is it a technical / model constraint?
i am just curious.

Evening! We’ve gotten lots of great feedback on the new ChatGPT desktop app (which we didn't get totally quite right on the first try), and as a result, we've made some changes. 1/ ChatGPT conversation history and projects are now visible in the sidebar. Also, your Chat and Work history now sync across web, mobile, and desktop. Local tasks still stay on your computer. 2/ You can now easily switch between Chat and Work modes inside ChatGPT on desktop, which is now also consistent with how it shows on web and mobile. 3/ Nothing is changing for users on Codex mode. It's still the OG and best at what it does. And overall we're continuing to fix paper cuts and improve performance, reliability, and efficiency. Keep up the feedback, hope you like the updates!

ok indulge me for a second. bangalore’s traffic shitshow should be a solvable problem if the right forces just came together, right? every single day we waste hours getting from point a to point b when we could be spending that time working, exercising, seeing friends, or literally doing anything else. it feels insane that we’ve just accepted this as normal.

India's consumer tech market is unique that you can have a fast-growing product with super high retention, but crazy low engagement! Well, hello UPI Autopay!
In any other scenario / market, engagement would be a leading indicator of high retention.
In India thanks to UPI autopay, you have customers who because of the ₹1 signup find it difficult to cancel (dark patterns) / forget to cancel and you see retention, but a majority of the customers don't even visit the product or use it. A majority are India2 customers so this is particularly cruel.
People of my vintage may remember the Caller Ringback Tunes playbook which telcos and VAS players used to similarly generate revenue.
Also, in almost all cases, the ad spend to revenue ratio for such UPI autopay led products is anywhere from 75 to 90% of revenues. Effectively VC funds are subsidizing Meta's growth:)

We're rolling out a small tweak to boost visibility of your posts to your mutuals (people who you follow back). We noticed this data was missing from the algo and it made your friends appear less in your replies. This resulted in the reply section feeling more like a battleground with people you don't recognize. This should also help clusters form around interests more easily, which many people have asked for.

we just discovered a hidden marketing opportunity no one is paying attention to. and it's happening in the streets of bangalore.
