Dougie Hamilton (2 x $9M) makes sense on the trade market.
Rasmus Andersson is only 29 - you could overpay him for two seasons and he could hit the market again at 31 when the cap goes up.
Someone will take a "bet on yourself" deal. Save your trade assets and overpay a bit.

The Leafs have plenty of cap space, and they don't have to give out any significant raises in the near future.
You don't want to sign up for bad long-term deals, but they can afford to overpay for 2-3 seasons.
Short-term, high AAV deals make sense this offseason.

@sportsrage Just say you didn't watch the games, Babcock alienated players, Keefe was constantly outcoached in the playoffs (still true in NJ) and Berube made the team worse in almost every metric.
Yes, players wear some of this, but it's not like the leafs job is not coveted.
