In 2025 I run 11 marathons, 1 ultra-marathon (+1 ultra which was cancelled after starting for safety -> joined the 12k run in afternoon instead) in 8 countries. 3 Mountain / trail runs and the rest were mostly flat roads. With inconsistent training & health: 3h 35m PB.

@chaotichermes Men with more money want to have more kids. Women with more money amplify their main character syndrome, don't want any kids, and start resenting men. Women use kids as tools to gain provision and protection from men. There are obvious solutions.

Serious question, how do we incentivize White European couples to have more children? It seems like money isn’t the deciding factor and more needs to be done. Like propaganda being shoved down people’s throats that having plenty of children is cool, single is lame. What else?

@Cr7Godbrand If you observe them you'll see they mainly do supportive trivial tasks that teenagers could do. Most of them have no value beyond a depreciating sex object that costs more over time and causes problems. The human male and female are vastly different and also in value.

@Cr7Godbrand Women don't build families. They mainly keep the kids alive, and that's about it. They almost never create a strict regiment for them to teach them morals, values, virtues, additional home schooling by them. Men actually build families and create better people.

Women are the enemy of civilizations because their loyalty is to survival, not principles. Women’s moral conscience is lower than men’s because their psychological development is based on shame, not guilt. Men feel guilt as an inner punishment, while women feel shame as fear of outside judgment. Because of this, women’s behavior is driven by social survival rather than principles. This is why people say a woman has the prerogative to change her mind. This leads to a lack of accountability and an inability to accept the truth. No matter how well arguments are presented, women hate the truth. Women understand the world through their feelings, which causes shifting standards. Because of this lack of reason and logic, civilization cannot survive under female leadership. Men build and women consume. Men build civilization, while women build families. When women rise in power, civilization collapses, as the proverb says, “the hen does not herald the morning.” Women belong at the heart of the family because of reproduction. Men continue in their role as warriors, protectors, and providers at the family and national level. Women are supposed to support society through reproduction and promoting family, but they are not doing so. This is a failure of duty to society. The feminist desire to win without a clear goal and without understanding consequences weakens the state. The state becomes weak and is then conquered by stronger forces. Women should not vote or hold positions of national importance.

@basit_ayantunde Incorrect again. It is literally up to anyone to state that another system of existence is retarded for any reason. You love to make statements to implicitly impose your beliefs while being too much of a coward to actual draw a line and explicitly state it.

@xbraqzen "For the fun of it" is clearly a hyperbole. You're free to prioritize technical correctness and rigor over solving users' problems, whether or not they use subpar technologies. It's not up to you to demean someone for choosing either.

@Manu343726 @basit_ayantunde Limit the scope. Iterate. Create high-quality products. The problem is often leadership has no idea what they want therefore no roadmap, therefore low quality products with shit code. It's unfortunate that people who can accumulate funds are the ones to make decisions.

@basit_ayantunde At work we often have this debate about shipping a product vs code crafting. I'm the first one who loves coding as a hobby, but sometimes people forget that they are paid to ship a product, and that some places will not prioritize the art of coding vs shipping features.

@basit_ayantunde "This isn't how..." Is based on your value system and the type of ecosystem YOU believe is correct. I doubt Andrew created Zig and, after all this time, is doing it "for the fun" instead of various technical reasons, which additionally bring him enjoyment.

@0x9212ce55 If you had to pay for a service that takes much longer, is much more wasteful and expensive and only becomes more difficult to maintain then you'd be angry at the lack of quality and switch to a different service. You wouldn't look for some silver lining.

@0x9212ce55 No, that requires the intent of it being useful and niche. Spending hours on what can be done in minutes, with massive excess of electricity, inference costs, and cognitive load, which only multiplies over time, is not something to appreciate. It's literally trash

One highly underappreciated part of agentic coding is that you can use EXTREMELY overengineered solutions for trivial problems. In traditional coding, this is always considered bad because it makes the codebase bloated; taking a 20/80 approach is considered right most of the time. But with an LLM-bootstrapped project, you just don't care at all - AI will implement, audit, and maintain it. Left Sol max for almost a day to write thousands of LoC solving a problem that would've probably taken me 50 lines to get a first-order approximation result. Feels like asking Einstein to do a 5th grader's homework.

The Zig crashout is great. Andrew is in the wrong, but everybody wins. It's much better when everyone's position (and vision, philosophy, etc) is known rather than being hidden under corporate or HR speak. We need more of this, not less.

@neetcode1 Why is it difficult to argue? Look at every language and its memory issues, gather a list of all issues, and then compare the languages. Rust outright eliminates some cases unless you intentionally enable them.

Very good post, a lot of interesting takeaways in the methodology. Jarred was pretty charitable towards Zig, but the implication that Rust is more memory safe than Zig (which is hard to debate) seemed to ruffle some feathers. Any serious person has to give credit where credit is due. To all the people on HN and elsewhere who were pointing and laughing at even the *attempt* to get this migration done, where are you now?

@spirodonfl @jorandirkgreef @jarredsumner You disagree with Rust? Are there stated philosophies or something? Ofc, memory is a whole thing, but could you elaborate on what you mean? FYI I love using rust more than any language I've used. Outside of some tedious verbosity at times at least it/its tooling just works.

If you want to see Zig done right, look at @jorandirkgreef and the TigetBeetle team. If you want to see corporate led destruction of an industry where people are manipulated into doing and holding positions for the end, regardless of means, have a look at Bun and @jarredsumner Andrew (zig) may have posted a blog post you don't agree with but the principles he touched on are true. Feel free to cope about it but the proof is abundant for anybody with 3+ brain cells who can look at companies that focus on the appropriate things. I'm 100% sure Rust has is like this too. I disagree with Rust at a principle and fundamental level but there are people who use it for good purposes (@LukasHozda @IroncladDev and others I'm not calling out) and I bet they put a lot of thought into how. It's too few and far between. Instead, it's the reckless and warped mindsets that are leading the tech industry as a whole.

Change is risky and costs resources needed for survival. Thus, the majority of people are normies terrified of change, and thus, people stepping out of line because they are incapable of perpetually adapting and taking on risk. They rather crush outcasts to feel safe and secure.
