@CryptoBC4 @Polymarket i thought the exact same thing, though I think its a little of a wasted opportunity to not do it on the 16th of June (Polymarkets 6th anniversary) or just before the World Cup starts so that they can capitalize on all the volume (people would buy $POLY for rebates)

09. July is a Thursday👀 Speculative but could make sense. Ss not taken yet means we still have time to prepare for the biggest TGE this year or decade. World Cup quarterfinals start 09.07. too so $Poly would launch into peak world cup hype. Everyone will hear about @Polymarket

@xbtRen @devjoshstevens @PolymarketDevs I don’t want to say anything negative about the team as I know how hard they've been working, but I disagree.

As the markets had more time to digest the $POLY teases, odds for the token launch have actually been bleeding across all timeframes. And you can't really use the “but there is no liquidity” argument either. September and December 2026 markets are liquid enough. Was expecting an uptick in vol and TVL too since you'd assume people would start fomoing into the platform to farm the airdrop more aggressively before it's too late, but that's not really been the case either.

@securezer0 potential room for improvement is for it to take into account LP rewards like betmoar does. i have accounts thatd look even worse than this one despite being profitable

@ikarusz26 i wouldve agreed with you if we had talked a couple weeks ago, but @devjoshstevens is doing gods work in terms of communication, including updates every Friday (as seen in @PolymarketDevs)

@xbtRen Yeah, I can relate to that. But it’s not without reason. There have been a lot of overpromises and underdeliveries over the years. Now that they’re finally catching up, the market is pricing in that they might not be able to pull it off.

@ikarusz26 yeah thats fair, but the fact that mustafa was sharing pics of him vibe coding a rebate system with the token makes me think that it really cant be that long until tge. ofc they can change their minds and you never know, but i feel like the market is way too skeptical currently

@xbtRen Could just be PTSD for some since Pumpfun said “airdrop soon” a year ago, and a lot of projects delayed their TGE thinking they’d do it when their hand isn’t as strong. (e.g. Opensea) If it was truly free money, Sept 2026 shares shouldn’t be trading sub 90c right now.

The trenches are that bad that half of ct is deciding that there is an imminent $POLY airdrop because of an image shared by someone who works at Polymarket. They are just farming you lot of hype without any even having to announce anything.

@0xJonnyDee lets just agree to disagree. i think that the way theyre being way more explicit about it now means something, but i dont think its bad to not jump the gun on it

@xbtRen The fact you have to use the term plausible means it's far from confirmed. I'm just saying that possibly wait for actual confirmation before saying "it's coming very soon".

@0xJonnyDee i mean yeah, but the intern needs to be doing something. a claim frontend seems definitely on the easier side when you consider everything else Polymarket does. also teasing an airdrop like this when it wont happen in 6-12 months will just harm their reputation

@xbtRen No, I'm saying Polymarket is a big project, I'm sure they don't need the intern to code it. I'm sure they have plenty of devs who can do backend or front end.
