@TheDavidVinc Yeah, a traditional world map and an airship are totally overdue. The hub layout in FF16 was horrible.

There's nothing better than that moment when you get to the world map in an RPG. I really hope Final Fantasy 17 goes back to a traditional world map, they just add so much immersion to the game.

@Pirat_Nation This doesn’t surprise me, to be honest. Consoles cost a lot, a PC costs even more, and games start at 60–70 and go up to 90+. The younger generation simply doesn’t have the cash to afford this. They’d rather play free-to-play games like Fortnite, FPS titles, or gacha games.

I really enjoyed Xenoblade Chronicles 3 overall, but this particular scene, Mio’s Homecoming, ruined the story for me. It would have been better if she had just disappeared for good instead of this frustrating bait-and-switch.

@Nanayuna__ @TooliusManicus Back then, our parents paid for most things when we were young, and in some ways it’s still similar today. I didn’t have much money either, so I mostly played what my parents bought and free-to-play MMORPGs. Compared to now, there wasn’t much choice.

@TooliusManicus Or maybe games nowadays are 70+ usd and not 20 usd like before. Now 15-20 year olds cant afford consoles and games. Only grown ups with jobs can afford it.

Jokes aside this is actually a big issue. Final Fantasy needs a home run to connect with the next generation and I fear that 7R isn't it. FF17 is going to be crucial.
