Good Afternoon people of Planet X, this afternoon, I want us all to embark on a thrilling journey into the world of aviation. Many might not know, just as we have giants like Benz, Toyota and the rest as Automobile Giants, we also have two giants in Aviation, BOEING and AIRBUS. As you read this, picture yourself back to when you last saw yourself on the tarmac of a bustling airport, surrounded by these airborne wonders. I know as you gaze on them, you notice some differences and it's quite very hard to identity the type of plane you're on, you realize that the subtle nuances lie not just in the mechanics but in the very essence of their identity. In this thread, I will unravel the mystery by dissecting crucial components. The Landing Gear, the Winglet, the Aircraft Nose and the Engine which is the heartbeat that propels these marvels through the heavens. Yet, in differentiation, a visual cue emerges. @Boeing , the pointed-nosed pioneer, cutting through the air with precision. @Airbus , with its bulbous-nosed grace, a testament to a different design philosophy. Join me as we navigate through these aeronautical lesson, where every curve and contour tells a tale of ambition, ingenuity, and the boundless skies that unite us all. ✈️ #AviationAdventure #BOEINGvsAIRBUS

RE: ALLEGATIONS BY DISMISSED EX-LANCE CORPORAL ROTIMI OLAMILEKAN The attention of the Nigerian Army has been drawn to a sensationalised report circulating on social media and mainstream news platforms featuring an interview with a dismissed soldier, Ex-18NA/77/1009 Lance Corporal Rotimi Olamilekan, popularly known as “Soja Boi.” In the interview, he made allegations regarding welfare, remuneration and the provision of uniforms and protective equipment for Nigerian Army personnel. While the Nigerian Army remains focused on its core mandate of safeguarding the nation, it has become necessary to correct these falsehoods to prevent the public from being misled. The Nigerian Army categorically states that Mr. Olamilekan was not dismissed for “speaking the truth” or expressing opinions on political leadership. He was dismissed following persistent and grave acts of indiscipline, including violations of the Armed Forces Social Media Policy. Like all professional militaries, the Nigerian Army operates under a strict Code of Conduct and the Armed Forces Act. Unauthorised media appearances, commercialisation of military identity, partisan content creation and misuse of military uniform constitute clear breaches of established regulations. His dismissal followed due process in line with military laws. On the issue of remuneration, the Nigerian Army operates a well-structured and transparent salary system, where earnings are determined by rank and years of service, as clearly stipulated in the Manual of Financial Administration for Armed Forces of Nigeria (MAFA). In addition to consolidated monthly salaries, personnel are entitled to uniform allowances and other allowances, which are periodically paid directly into their accounts. Furthermore, troops deployed on operations or assigned to duties outside their units receive Ration Cash Allowance, Habit Allowance, in addition to free feeding arrangements. Personnel serving in operational theatres, such as Operation HADIN KAI in the North East, are also paid operational allowances and other mission-specific entitlements designed to support their welfare and enhance operational effectiveness. The portrayal of soldiers as receiving no additional benefits beyond basic salary is therefore misleading and inaccurate. The claim that soldiers are required to purchase uniforms and protective equipment, including bulletproof vests and helmets, is entirely false. The Nigerian Army prioritises the welfare, safety, and force protection of its personnel. The provision of uniforms, kits, arms, ammunition, and operational gear is an institutional responsibility executed through established logistics systems. Dedicated ordnance units oversee the procurement, storage, and issuance of these items to ensure troops are adequately equipped for operations. While some personnel may choose to supplement issued kits based on personal preference and comfort, such actions are voluntary and do not indicate any systemic failure. The assertion that troops operate without protective gear is not only false but also reckless, as it undermines public confidence and troop morale. For the avoidance of doubt, no soldier is deployed to an operational theatre without the necessary protective equipment. Claims that such gear is only issued during ceremonial visits are deliberate falsehoods intended to mislead the public. The Nigerian Army remains committed to the highest standards of discipline, accountability, and troop welfare. Operational decisions regarding postings and deployments are guided strictly by strategic and operational requirements.

In as much as I love the Nigerian Army and want it to succeed, I must point out some facts and address certain misleading claims. First, I spent 9 years in Borno State out of the 12 years I served in the Nigerian Army. The salary paid to soldiers (other ranks) is a joke and an insult compared to their sacrifices. Many soldiers cannot afford decent meals for their families. How do you explain to the general public that a Lieutenant who has spent just 6 months to 1 year in service after graduating from NDA earns more than a Master Warrant Officer (MWO) who has served for 32–34 years? We understand they are commissioned officers, but the gap is unreasonable especially since the Navy and Air Force do not have such a wide disparity like the Nigerian Army. Talking about uniform and boots allowance, the last time the Nigerian Army paid this was around 2015–2016 during General Buratai’s tenure, and since then, it has stopped. So the ex-soldier is 100% correct, and you know that. Furthermore, the Nigerian Army deliberately increased only the Ration Cash Allowance (RCA) from ₦30,000 to ₦90,000 because it goes directly into Army controlled channels (S&T accounts), unlike the operational allowance which goes directly to soldiers’ accounts still remains at ₦45,000 per month. The increase in feeding allowance appears deliberate because soldiers are compelled to eat Army provided food in the North East against their preference. Nigerian Army allows the Supply and Transport (S&T) unit to control and potentially mismanage the funds. So, they channeled the money back to big men account. The food provided by S&T is often of very poor quality, many would not even consider it suitable for animals, let alone human consumption. Numerous soldiers, both inside bush and town, have complained about this poor feeding but Nigerian Army keep debunking it because they're benefiting from the money. As a result, many soldiers avoid Army food altogether because it can lead to health issues. They end up spending their personal money to feed themselves. Regarding military kits such as fragmentation jackets and helmets, when you arrive at the theatre of operations, your unit is expected to request these items from Theatre Command. However, only the officers own are been approved leaving the soldiers to source it by themselves. I was never officially issued a jacket or helmet for the 9 years i spend in Borno state, i only managed to get one from soldiers who were leaving the operation. So, the ex-soldier was not entirely wrong.
