Another culture shock I experienced while living in Togo is that it is only Nigerian men that value, and clamor for a Male child more. In Togo, they would prefer 100 girls to 1 boy child. This is because training a girl child is easier and more beneficial to them. For them, once the girl child gets to 15 at least, she can somehow start caring and even fending for the family, as opposed to a make child that would be housed and fed until he is 30 sometimes. So the birth of a female child is supposed largely celebrated, more than a male child. They don’t care about keeping names and linage.

Gov. Alex Otti has successfully negotiated to take away Umuahia and the remaining LGAs so that they can equally be connected with the rest of Abia already in the Geometric Network while expanding the generating capacity of GPal and Aba Power. Nobody in Aba and the 8 other LGAs currently enjoying stable power is complaining about the cost because there’s been aggressive mass metering. You pay for what you consume. The state is currently in the process of paying off EEDC so that the entire state will be taken off the National grid (which EEDC is part of) that bills so much while providing little power.
