Consensus Statement: Roadmap for naming uncultivated Archaea and Bacteria nature.com/articles/s4156… The authors propose two recommendations for naming prokaryotes that currently lack type material or cultured representatives, and do not have a formal nomenclature system.

At the upper end of that line of wells is a bubbling spring with white bacterial mats and the smell of rotten eggs. H2S oxidizing bacteria? Any bacteria identifiers out there capable of IDing from a movie?

@trinity_lh If you click on the "Microbial Diversity" tab, and then the "Change view" option, you'll see a pie chart of the bacteria/archaea we found in there - 59.2% Acidithiobacillus apparently! 😀
