Drake paid homage to Vybz Kartel on his new album “Made Of Honor.”
On the track “New Bestie”, Drake references the dancehall icon with lyrics including “Addi yah mi daddy, yah di teacha,” “big up the teacha,” and “mek Kartel get one line fi the teacha, Gaza grim reaper.”
The song appears on “Made Of Honor”, one of the three projects Drake released on Friday.
Over the years, Drake has repeatedly credited Vybz Kartel and dancehall culture as major influences on his music, style, and sound. Many fans online are now calling the latest tribute another reminder of Kartel’s worldwide impact on modern music.

Drake just brought pure Caribbean energy to his new album “Made of Honor.” Track 7, titled “BBW,” features a heavy sample of Trinidadian soca legend Denise “Saucy Wow” Belfon’s iconic 1999 anthem “Work.” 🇹🇹🔥
Hearing the classic “put yuh back in it” vocals flipped into a fresh OVO-style production is a major moment for Caribbean music fans. The sample blends classic carnival energy with modern hip-hop and once again shows the global impact soca music continues to have on mainstream culture.
Denise Belfon’s “Work” remains one of the most recognisable soca anthems ever made and has been a staple at Caribbean parties and carnivals for years.

I went on a date with a guy who worked for American Youth Soccer. He said basically American men's has never won a world cup because we don't have kids playing soccer in the street and Brazilian soccer is so influenced by kids playing in tight streets.
