@NealinNFT @tidecoin Key facts: •Launched in 2020 •Lightweight PoW (no validator centralization) •Blockchain < 25 MB → anyone can run a full node •Merge mining expected •No VC, no classic premine, neutral protocol Quietly built. No hype. Just infrastructure.

@NealinNFT @tidecoin @Tidecoin ($TDC) is approaching security from a very similar perspective to Bitcoin — no VC, no trust layer, just protocol discipline. It’s built on hash-based Proof of Work, with fixed emission, and already integrates the Falcon-512 post-quantum signature scheme.

Fun Fact: If you bought $1000.- worth of #Eth 10 years ago, you would have $3,9M today. This could be you in the next 10 years if you pay attention to Quantum coins like: - $Qanx - $QRL - $HBAR - $Cell

@WayneVaughan If you’re looking into post-quantum risks, Tidecoin is worth checking out: • Launched in 2020 • Lightweight PoW (no validator centralization) • Blockchain <25 MB → anyone can run a node • Merge mining expected this year • No VC, no classic premine, neutral protocol

Quantum is the Y2K of Bitcoin.
Adam Back@adam3us

@iamnickrose @TheBTCTherapist bitcoin can just add a new signature type, and make a "quantum ready" taproot leaf alternative spend method, under taproot/schnorr. in that way you can be ready without paying the cost of large signatures until it becomes relevant. NIST standardized SLH-DSA aug 2024 only.

@TrustlessState As a quantum expert, I suggest you talk with some, as the situation in Ethereum is not as good as you depict it. Not factoring in Bitcoin, Eth has a substantial larger and more complex crypto stack to replace, which will take years. Bitcoin has a social problem, Eth a tech one!

@hosseeb I was looking at that chart today. It’s down massively from a couple years ago. Doesn’t inspire confidence. Based on my survey of available evidence, I am confident projecting Q day between 2028 and 2033.

Important not to scaremonger here about quantum timelines. Running Shor's algorithm is not the same thing as breaking an actual 256-bit ECC key. You can use Shor's algorithm to factor a number—that will be impressive—but will take a huge degree of scaling and engineering to factor a number with hundreds of digits. @metaculus is projecting first RSA number gets factored using Shor's algorithm in 2034. That gives us median estimate ~10 years before modern public key crypto is definitively broken. (That said, can happen sooner! It's not a point estimate, but a distribution, fuzzy on both the downside and upside.) Also worth noting that this estimate has significantly come down in the last 3 years. In 2022, Metaculus was forecasting 2052, so the timer has come down by almost 20 years since then. Progress is certainly ahead of schedule. Important to take seriously. But not imminent by any means. All blockchains will need to adapt to post-quantum cryptography. An orderly transition probably needs at least 4 years, which means we have the next few years to decide on a viable upgrade path.

> Indeed, given the current staggering rate of hardware progress, I now think it’s a live possibility that we’ll have a fault-tolerant quantum computer running Shor’s algorithm before the next US presidential election. – Scott Aaronson (11/13/25)

I talk about this because I care. I have poured blood, sweat and tears into Bitcoin over the last 8 years. If Bitcoin is to survive and thrive the next decade, we need to have difficult conversations on the Quantum threat now. It was a pleasure exploring this on The Investors Podcast. youtube.com/watch?v=dFknx-…

@caprioleio If quantum isn’t solved by 2026, many will look back and realize the signal was always there. Except @tidecoin , which was born with a post-quantum focus, lightweight PoW, and future-proof signatures. Grab a few and wait. Time will do the rest. $TDC

DUMMIES GUIDE TO BEING QUANTUM SAFE. In the past it was about protecting your PRIVATE KEY (your seed phrase). In the age of big scary quantum computers (BSQC) that are coming, you need to protect your PUBLIC KEY also. Basically a BSQC can figure out your private key from a public key. The present day taproot addresses (the latest format) are NOT safe, these are addresses starting with "bc1p" and they embed the public key into the address, not good. Prior formats hide the public key behind a hash, so a BSQC can't easily crack it. Do this: 1) create a new segwit wallet. It will start with "bc1q" (NOT "bc1p"), you can use older formats too like ones starting with "1" and "3" 2) send all your BTC into this new address 3) you can continue to stack sats into this new address 4) NEVER send BTC out of it, once you do you're BSQC hackable because your public key is revealed 5) wait for Bitcoin to upgrade to a quantum safe protocol, this may take 7 years, who knows 6) send your BTC into the new quantum safe address when the network is NOT congested, once you send, you reveal the private key for a short time. It's unlikely a BSQC will steal your coins in that short window
