The referendum was not won by MDP, it was won by the people. It sent a clear message to all leaders: the people have begun to stand up against autocracy, and they will do so again whenever necessary. It was a clear message that bribery does not work. It was a clear message that the people are awake. Over 70% of the people said “No” to this government, and that same majority will say “No” to any government that fails them. The people have spoken.
